Food Stamp (SNAP) Program – Tax Payer Funded Bottomless Government Money Pit

Obama (Tax Payer Supported) Dollars

Supporters of the program call it a safety net for families who claim to be unable to pay for food. At last count there were more than 45 million Americans receiving Food Stamps(SNAP) payments, setting in that safety net at a cost of more than $75 billion dollars a year in American Tax Payer Dollars. Social welfare reformers call it a bottomless government money pit.

Reformers say the Federal Government should get out of the Social Welfare food stamp program and send block grants to each state. The government should stop promoting a welfare state and convert food stamp spending to block grants to be administrated by the states.

The Food Stamp (SNAP) program has more than doubled in cost since Obama has been president. Driven by a temporary expansion of the benefit in the 2009 (Obama) economic stimulus bill.

Many people think that recipients are required to look for work or enter job training in order to receive food stamps. {Not true} When asked if able-bodied adults should be required to try and find work as a prerequisite for aid, a majority of voters (Tax Payers) said yes!

In the long term what you must do is transform this program from being a cash entitlement program into a program that promotes work and self-sufficiency and not a continuing dependency on A Government Social Welfare System.
